What is coronavirus?
Coronaviruses are a type of virus. With many kinds of viruses we rarely hear about, coronavirus was one type that caused disease. A strain of coronavirus called, SARS-CoV-2, caused the pandemic of respiratory illness, called COVID-19.
What can we do to mitigate the risk of the virus spreading?
Researchers for the time being, know that coronavirus is spread through infectious people who breathe, talk, cough etc. and droplets and virus particles are then released into the air. Infectious particles can linger in the air and accumulate particularly in indoor places where many people are gathered and there is poor ventilation. To prevent the spread, this is why masks, hand hygiene and physical distancing are essential to preventing COVID-19.
